Crkva (Vojvodina). He went to school of applied art (the
department of graphic design) in Novi Sad and to

The students' journal "Index" used to encourage young students to expres themselves through this form of art. A lot of famous yugoslav cartoonists (Sajtinac, Ubovic...) published their first cartoons there. During the ten years of studying he published about fifty cartoons in "Index" and occasionally in daily journal "Dnevnik" (Novi Sad). Since 1972. he's been working as a technical editor and a journalist of a local newspaper "Rec naroda" (Pozarevac) and as a reporter of "Vecernje novosti" (Belgrade). During that time he edited and illustrated five poetry books, two monographies and three satirical books. In early eighties he wrote a monodrama "Fifth copy" (Peti primerak). Since 1996. he uses a pseudonym KUM (KUzmanovic Miodrag). He was a cartoonist of the first independent newspaper in Pozarevac "Voice of people" (Glas naroda). Now he occasionally publishes his cartoons in "Osisani jez" (Belgrade). Under influence of his friends, he sends his cartoons to international contests (Italy, France, England, Holland, Poland, Macedonia, Iran, Korea, Japan...) and to local yugoslav cartoon and strip festivals. He did not receive any prize yet. Some of his recent cartoons were published in catalogs regarding the prestige yugoslav cartoon festival "PJER '97" and the Italian cartoon festival "STORI DI ORDINARIO SORROSO" (apunti grafici eironici di 150 artisti internazionali) in Torino. His brief biography and some cartoons were published in lexicon "Who is who in yugoslav humor, satire and cartoon art" (Ko je ko u nasem humoru, satiri i karikaturi, "Osisani jez", Belgrade). |
